Dear council(man/woman) _____________,

The preservation of public art in Queens is an important matter to me. The attempts by some to have the Triumph of Civic Virtue sold and relocated to private property is deeply upsetting. Furthermore, the statue’s level of decay is a demoralizing sign that city government does not care sufficiently about Queens, which more than 25% of the city’s residents call home.

I expect you, as a public servant, to take a stand in support of the public art in the borough you represent. My family, friends, colleagues, and I would like to see the statue restored and kept in front of Borough Hall, where it has stood for over 70 years. Queens is proud of its Civic Virtue, and I expect the candidate who receives my vote on election day to affirm his or her support publicly, and now.

I stand with triumphofcivicvirtue.org.

Sincerely,
____________
